A shadow passes through the night
On ghostly wings without flight
A silent stalker checks his keep
Ere he finds his sleep
All is settled, all is calm
So purr-fect sleep doth end his psalm
‘Til morrow breaks a new day’s dawn
With a languid stretch and feline yawn
To start anew his lone patrol
The safest of keeps his only goal.
Beware of Dog! I think not
For a ferocious cat is what I’ve got.
