Love's Lost Memory

I sit in the dark
Quietly waiting
Heart aching for you
But you never come

I move to the floor
And watch old re-runs
Your arms around me
That would be my dream

I fall into sleep
Within my sweet dreams
Your passionate eyes
My very core caress

You reach for me too
Alone in your bed
A dream so vivid
Can’t be in your head

Just out of your reach
I jump, now awake
Startled and shaken
By another’s touch

My heart morns the dreams
All lost to the night
Your deep blue pools gone
Now a memory
