Hope for a Future

Wounded spirit crumpled in a heap
Tears that stained the pillow last night
Now caked in the sleepy eyes of morning
Fear mounting at your reactions

Disappointment, anger, attack!

Mistakes made in unthinking moments
Bereft feelings no presence of mind
Intentions were good and still actions wrong
Common knowledge says it clear

The Road to Hell is paved with “Good Intentions”

Shut down is not an option
Communication essential
Mistakes were made
Apologies needed and given

A repeat of Mount St. Helens avoided.

In voices of love, sanctuary
In words of disappointment, understanding
In the aftermath, an eerie calm
In the quiet calm, Hope for a Future.
